Facilities

The facilities listed below represent areas of shared technology, laboratory space, instrumentation and expert staff members, all of which support the research efforts of the University faculty. Use this section to find lists of shared facilities by research area or at the national laboratories.

Data Visualization Lab

The Research Computing Center (RCC) Data Visualization Laboratory serves not only as a data analysis and visualization resource, but also as forum for educational activities. It is located in the Kathleen A. Zar Room in the John Crerar Library and is available for use by all RCC users.

Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fab Lab

The Polsky Fab Lab offers all existing Polsky Exchange members a full suite of state of the art equipment to create prototypes and translate ideas into physical objects.

Institute for Translational Medicine

The University of Chicago Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM) is a member of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical and Translational Science Awards consortium that helps convert biomedical research into health improvement. The UChicago ITM connects  researchers and community organizations with funding, training, and other resources while forging connections across departments, universities, and patient advocacy groups.

Research Computing Center

The RCC provides high-end research computing resources to researchers at the University of Chicago. It is dedicated to enabling research by providing access to centrally managed high-end computing, storage and visualization resources. These resources include hardware, software, high-level scientific and technical user support, education, and training required to help researchers make full use of modern computational instruments.
