Help for Researchers
University Research Administration (URA) provides review and institutional endorsement of all applications for sponsored funding including clinical studies/trials and Material Transfer Agreements. URA reviews, and negotiates when necessary, awards prior to acceptance, and accepts awards officially on behalf of the University.
The URA Web Site offers extensive help to researchers. There are sections for Faculty, Argonne Scientists & Staff, New Administrators, and Corporate Visitors (primarily from the point of view of negotiating agreements with the University for clinical trials, sponsored research, and material transfers).
Some of the topics covered include:
- Searching for Sponsored Funding
- Proposal Development & Submission
- Negotiating Awards
- Post-Award
- Regulations, Policies, & Procedures
- Support & Resources
The goals of the Office of Technology and Intellectual Property (UChicagoTech) are to disseminate new ideas so the public can benefit from discoveries, and to generate revenues for research and education. Researchers who have made an advance that might constitute an invention, or who have developed intellectual property—regardless of its commercial potential—should visit the section For Inventors or contact the staff at 702-1692.
The Office of Corporate Relations helps corporate visitors to locate University resources and programs of interest. Please do not hesitate to contact them at 773-834-7616.
Serving as a catalyst, the Office of Foundation Relations (OFR) works with all University divisions, schools, and centers to promote opportunities for interactions with foundations. OFR staff work with representatives from foundations to match University initiatives to philanthropic agendas.
