The following terms govern the use of audio and video interviews ("Media Files") from the University of Chicago’s web site Research at Chicago. By using this site you specifically agree to these Terms of Use and to any modifications thereto.
- Use of Materials
All materials contained in this site, unless otherwise stated are the copyrighted property of The University of Chicago. The University of Chicago allows its Media Files to be posted or distributed through linking or embedding solely for non-commercial use, subject to the following terms and conditions. This use includes the right to display the Media Files on third party Web Sites, but does not include the right to edit, modify or otherwise alter the Media Files or to incorporate the Media Files into any other derivative work. - Noncommercial Use Only
Use of the Media Files is limited to noncommercial purposes. No Media File may be used, sold, sublicensed, reproduced, distributed, displayed, incorporated into or otherwise made available as a commercial product or service or as part of a commercial product or service, including a subscription or members-only service. - No Implied Association or Endorsement
You may not use a Media File in any way to imply an association with or an endorsement by the University of Chicago or its affiliates or any of their faculty members or employees. Except as expressly permitted, you may not use the name, logo or trademarks of the University of Chicago or its affiliates without the prior written permission of the University of Chicago. - Credit
Your use of the Media Files must include the University of Chicago copyright notice as follows: “© 200[6], The University of Chicago.” - Ownership
All right, title and interest in the Media Files remains the exclusive property of the University of Chicago. Other than the limited use explicitly set forth in this Terms of Use, you have no further or additional interest in, right, or license to any Media File. All rights of any kind in the Media File which are not expressly granted to you by these Terms of Use are entirely and exclusively reserved to the University of Chicago. - No Warranties; Disclaimer of Liability
You agree that the Media Files are provided to you as-is, and without any representations or warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purposes. The University of Chicago will not be liable to you or any third party for any general, special, direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, business interruption, loss of business information, or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of your use of or inability to use any Media File. - Term and Termination
The University of Chicago shall have the right to terminate your use of the Media Files on reasonable advance written notice to you. Upon such termination for any reason, you shall immediately cease all use of any Media File, removing it from your Web site and eliminating any links to it. - Applicable Law
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of laws principles.
